General Information For Industrial Engineering Department
History of the Program:
Akdeniz University Alanya Faculty of Engineering Department of Industrial Engineering started its undergraduate education program in September 2013. Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, which was established on 23.04.2015, is continuing education and training activities as an engineering engineering department of the Faculty of Engineering.
Purpose of the Program:
The aim of our department; Industrial Engineers who have a command of system design and optimization approaches and methods to meet the needs of the production and service sectors, are open to continuous learning and innovation, who update themselves on science and technology and learn to learn, who guide the industry about the application areas of Industrial Engineering, emphasize the importance and increase their awareness to raise.
Education System:
Four-year undergraduate education is offered in our department. The annual education program consists of two semesters, fall semester and spring semester. A four-year undergraduate program is completed in eight terms in total. In our department, after a valid undergraduate education, Master's and Doctorate education will be given in main disciplines.
Why Industrial Engineering?
Industrial Engineering differs from other departments as it provides the integration of engineering sciences and social sciences with its system approach. By this feature, it plays a key role in solving the problems faced by each sector in production and management. Industrial Engineering deals with the design, development and establishment of integrated systems consisting of human, machine and material. It uses special knowledge and skills in mathematics, physics and social sciences by combining the principles and methods of engineering design in determining, estimating and evaluating the results to be obtained from such systems. In the 19th century, the 1st Industrial Revolution took place as a result of the developments in science and engineering as well as the increase in the effect of steam power. With the industrial revolution, production systems that are more difficult to plan, organize and direct and require special skills for management have begun to be developed.Thus, a branch of engineering that will deal with the design, development and establishment of systems consisting of human, machine, material and money, and which will especially give importance to the human dimension of the system. has begun to be needed. As a result of this requirement, studies on industrial engineering have been started.

Banking: Industrial engineers have a great place in the banking sector. They can find jobs in areas such as SME banking, risk management, sales and marketing at banks as assistant inspectors or at headquarters and branches.
Software: The software industry is a department where industrial engineering shines. If you are an industrial engineer, it is not difficult to find a job in the software industry. Industrial engineers are generally preferred for jobs such as software analyst, business analyst, software tester.
Automotive: In the automotive sector, work is carried out in areas such as production planning, purchasing, procurement and logistics.
Consumption Goods: It is a very popular and important sector in recent years. Companies such as PG, Unilever, Ülker, Eti, Pepsi, CocaCola, which produce and sell products that are consumed daily such as cola, chocolate and chips, can work in many areas from production to sales.
Consultancy: The consulting industry is a very popular industry for Industrial Engineers. They work in positions such as business analyst.
Public: Industrial Engineers may have work opportunities in the state. Industrial engineers work in many public institutions such as the Competition Authority, the Ministry of Development, the Ministry of Economy, the Undersecretariat of Treasury, KOSGEB, EMRA, BTK, TİB.
