Our Students at the TEKNOFEST Final
Among the projects that made it to the finals in the Energy and Environment category of the "2242 University Students Research Project Competition" organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2025, the model developed by Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Industrial Engineering undergraduate students drew attention.
The project, prepared by Eray BAYSAL and Aleyna KENAR, 4th year industrial engineering students, and advised by Dr. Lecturer Eren KAMBER and Lecturer Ufuk AYDOĞMUŞ, brings a scientific and innovative approach to the Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EAŞİ) location processes in Antalya.
The project, developed under the title of "Antalya Province Electric Vehicle Charging Station Site Selection Study with the Application of GIS-Based Multi-Criteria Decision Making Methods", aims to produce solutions to the problems encountered in the location selection of electric vehicle charging stations in Antalya in line with the principles of sustainable urbanism and energy efficiency. In this context, the team conducted comprehensive analyses using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Fuzzy Logic and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques together.
As a result of the studies, Alanya, Muratpaşa, Konyaaltı, Manavgat and Kemer districts were determined as the most suitable locations. Alanya district stands out as the most suitable region with criteria such as tourism activities, strong infrastructure opportunities and traffic density.
Project:
Conducting strategic location analyses in regions where the current infrastructure does not meet the demands,
Detailed evaluation of 16 different criteria of critical importance such as traffic density, energy infrastructure, access to social areas and slope,
Planning charging stations supported by renewable energy sources,
Standing out with sustainable solutions designed to increase user satisfaction and reduce carbon footprint.
The team that makes it to the finals will compete for first place by presenting their projects to the jury. This success provides an important contribution not only academically but also socially. Our Dean Prof. Dr. Erhan Cengiz congratulated our students and faculty members and wished them success in the final.
